| PARTNERSHIPS IN THE COMMUNITY |
As a new service that seeks to find suitable volunteers to fill local volunteering opportunities we want to work in partnership with local organisations.
We are active members of local networks across the region to meet and understand the voluntary and community sector’s needs. We are always happy to visit organisations and groups needing volunteers to better understand you specific aims and requirements.
So, what then can coMMUni can do for you?
- We are a free service in MMU that exists to help your organisation
- We promote volunteering opportunities amongst MMU students and staff
- We have a list of willing volunteers waiting for the right opportunity
- A database for you to register all your voluntary needs
- Resources (both time and money) to develop volunteering in MMU
Some background:
- MMU is a large local organisation that values the community within which it operates.
- MMU employs 4,000 staff to run over 400 courses on seven sites in Manchester and Cheshire area for 35,000 students.
- Over 60% of the student population are local people.
This is a massive 'audience' of potential long-term volunteers, supporters, committee members and fundraisers for community organisations.
