MMU VOLUNTEERING AWARDS

The Students Union and partners, which included coMMUni, hosted a MMU Volunteer Awards ceremony . This proved a successful first event with support form across the institution. The Vice Chancellor, Sandra Bursalem, and a Pro Vice Chancellor, Dennis Dunn, presented the awards to 8 distinguished volunteers.

The final winners not only got a certificate, but also a cheque for £50 and an engraved plaque. They were: Ben Thompson Cheshire Community Volunteer Of The Year Clare MacInnes Manchester Community Volunteer Of The Year Malcolm Sterling Sport Club Website Editor Of The Year Elliot Cohen Society Website Editor Of The Year Dominic Hovell Course Rep’ Of The Year Victoria So Hoi Yan Millennium Volunteer Of The Year Jessica Cole Volunteer Of The Year Anne Leahy-Gilmartin Staff Volunteer Of The Year

Another awards ceremony is planned for 2005 to continue to recognise the hard work and invaluable effort of MMU volunteers.
