The following is a copy of our ‘Statement of Service’ document to organisations registering on our database. It outlines the service we can offer and the types of information we may require.
If you wish to discuss any of the details below before agreeing to them please contact the coMMUni office and we will be happy to discuss the document with you.
1. Aims of this statement:
To assist volunteers from the university staff and student population to undertake voluntary opportunities within local community organisations in a safe and prepared manner, maximising the benefit for the individuals and the community organisations involved.
To define the arrangements for appropriate opportunities and long term working partnerships between the university and the community.
This agreement is intended to clarify the working arrangements for referring volunteers through coMMUni to a host organisation.
coMMUni is not a volunteer recruitment agency it is a signpost service. This means that once a volunteer(s) is involved in an opportunity with the organisation the volunteer’s conduct and activity is not the responsibility of coMMUni. The volunteer(s) is responsible to and works under the organisation’s normal working practices as would any other volunteer.
